Now that the compliancy deadline has past it is questionable how many federal agencies are able to now deploy PIV-II identification verification systems required by the HSPD-12 mandate.

There are still some unknowns regarding interoperability among different products, and whether agencies will be able to take on the task of becoming HSPD-12 shared-service providers (SSP) for those services common across all agencies.
